What are Stem Cells and Cytokines

newsletter_icon

Stem cells are unspecialized cells that have two defining properties: the ability to differentiate into other cells and the ability to self-regenerate.

Cytokines – signalling molecules produced by stem cells to act on other cells.

Cytokines are high-molecular-weight peptides, and function as biological signals involved in the regulation of cell growth. Their main action is to trigger cells to divide, grow, and to produce skin matrix proteins like collagen and elastin.
